Hair & Makeup Stylists have the training to make you look your best for the camera, boost your self-assurance during the shoot, and spare you the hassle of deciding between wearing makeup that will photograph well and makeup that will look natural in everyday life. Many times, how you look will be the first impression someone gets of you.
They can provide invaluable advice on everything from what products to use to how to best contour and shape your features.
Even if you don’t normally wear a lot of makeup, you’ll notice a huge difference in photos when you apply some. Makeup appears different and far more pronounced in photos than how it does when you’re actually wearing it.
Please be sure to arrive 60 minutes before your scheduled shoot time if you intend to take advantage of their services.
WHAT TO WEAR FOR YOUR HEADSHOTS
Barn Door Boutique has graciously offered to participate in our headshot day! They will be providing several pieces that you can borrow to ‘dress up’ your shoot! Plus, if you love the piece, you can purchase it on the spot!
If you’re going for a professional or commercial headshot, you’ll want to make sure that you seem approachable and professional. So, steer away from outfits that are too colorful or bold. Instead, find an outfit with a style that gives off a serious but friendly vibe. Think neutrals with small pops of color; like navy, black, grey, white, etc.
On the other hand, if you’re getting a headshot to advertise your brand , then you’ll want to wear styles that reflect the message you’re trying to sell through that brand. Think of your headshot as the ‘face’ of your brand. Also, consider that this image will reflect your brand’s core values and this will help you decide what to wear for headshots.
